I have decided to take the plunge and start to using Task Rocket (taskrocket.info) as a tasks system for the people I work with with. Its a pretty nice theme which site on wordpress and so far pretty happy with it.
However, I installed it on my server the other day with ssl and parts of the dashboard started not to work.
In the end I found that the jquery file was being mangled within the functions and not loading the much needed jquery file hence loss of various functionality with Task Rocket dashboard.
I made a single change the theme functions.php file as below and all error dissapeared.
