A “301 redirect” is more commonly called a “301 moved permanently” status.
It tells a visitor or search engine that the page has been moved elsewhere and no longer exists in its previous place but has been moved somewhere else.
You can also use a basic response.redirect but a 301 redirect is important if you want search engines to follow through to the new page in order to get it listed.
Response.Status="301 Moved Permanently"
Response.AddHeader "Location", "/new-page.asp"
In the part that says “/new-page.asp” you can either put a local url or a proper url like “https://www.craig-edmonds.com/newpage.html”
