If you are trying to generate more traffic to your website, you may feel your efforts are in vain due to what is known as the Google Sandbox effect.
Basically, the Google Sandbox is somewhat like the probationary license that a new driver obtains before they are allowed to have a license.
In order to maintain the integrity of search rankings, Google will not assign a web page linking until it has been around for at least 3 or more months to ensure that it is not built by a negligent owner.
In other words, Google wants to make sure that a webpage is reliable before they start directing their users to it for information.
The downside to this is that as a web creator you can spend hours perfecting and making your webpage excellent, but you will not see the results or the ranking until a few months have passed.
While this can be frustrating, you should not stop practicing SEO tactics because once you are allowed out of the Google Sandbox, your ranking can rise from a zero to a 6 or 7, depending on how much you have developed your page, literally overnight.
Although it may be frustrating to continue to develop your website with no clear picture of rather your efforts are working or not, you should know that there is no way to get around the Google Sandbox except to keep posting.
Sometimes, if you can link to established websites you can ‘grandfather’ your way in and get out of the sandbox quicker, but there is no solid guarantee this will work.
However, since it does work on some occasions it worth a try if you want to be assigned a Google ranking.
Regardless, once you receive a ranking at least you know you will not be competing against the other newer sites that are stuck in your same position.
